Triple H talks about WWE’s new initiative to sign collegiate athletes.
WWE is taking advantage of the new allowance of collegiate athletes to monetize their name image and likeness and have created a new program called the Next in Line program. Recently, WWE signed 15 new names to the program and now, Triple H has spoken about the new initiative during an NBC news report.
“To allow college students to sort of monetize and utilize their name image and likeness. It’s opened up an avenue for us. This allows them to have that open door to earn money while in college,” said Triple H.
The first of these collegiate athletes was Olympic gold medalist, Gable Steveson. Steveson was drafted to the Monday Night Raw roster in October and was in attendance at the WWE Day One event in Atlanta, Georgia. Thus far, no moves have been made regarding Gable debuting in WWE.
