Christopher Daniels To Defend DEFY Interim Title On 2/12 At DEFY ‘Year 5’

Christopher Daniels will defend the DEFY Interim Championship at the promotion’s “DEFY YEAR 5” event.

The promotion announced the news in a tweet on January 7; Daniels will put the title on the line against Nick Wayne, who regularly competes for Game Changer Wrestling, among other promotions.

At DEFY Dark Horse, Daniels won the gold by defeating Brody King; the reigning DEFY Champion, Randy Myers has been unable to travel and compete for the promotion due to travel restrictions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Daniels is AEW’s Head of Talent Relations, but he hasn’t wrestled for the promotion since SCU lost to the Young Bucks on the May 12, 2021, episode of AEW Dynamite and, per the stipulation of the match, subsequently broke up. Over the last few months, he has competed for NJPW STRONG and IMPACT Wrestling, among other promotions.
