Goodbye, WALTER. Hello, Gunther.
In the main-event bout on the January 18 episode of WWE NXT 2.0, the former NXT UK Champion battled Roderick Strong and emerged victorious at the end of the hard-fought contest. WALTER pinned Strong and proceeded to declare that he was the winner, but he didn’t refer to himself by his typical name. Instead, he called himself, “Gunther” before his stable, Imperium brawled with Strong’s Diamond Mine faction.
The ring isn't big enough to hold a brawl of this magnitude!! #Imperium #DiamondMine#WWENXT @WalterAUT @Marcel_B_WWE @FabianAichner @roderickstrong @JuliusCreedWWE @BrutusCreedwwe pic.twitter.com/FLEQUtLsY5

WWE recently filed to trademark “Gunther Stark,” but it’s currently unclear if WALTER’s declaration means that he is changing his name.
WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
