QT Marshall Donates Uniforms To High School Wrestling Team, Hopes To Inspire With His Success

QT Marshall knows that it’s important to never forget where you came from.

AEW star QT Marshall is a big proponent of that notion and explained as much when speaking with APP.com ahead of All Elite Wrestling’s return to the New Jersey market during the company’s debut episode on TBS last week. Marshall returned to his alma mater, Freehold High School to donate warmup uniforms to the wrestling team and spoke about wanting to give back to his community.

“It was kind of a dreamer’s world to think that you could actually go do something important from a little town like Freehold,” explained Marshall. “But there was Bruce Springsteen. And I also mentioned (to the students) there was a guy who played in the NFL who was a senior when I was a freshman — his name was Darrell Reid and he won a Super Bowl with the (Indianapolis) Colts (in 2007).

“And I just remember thinking, ‘OK, if I ever do succeed at this wrestling thing I would love to go back and show people.’ Without being egotistical about it because I am humble and also realistic about where I am on the scale of professional wrestling, (I wanted) just to come back and let these kids know that it is possible.”

Marshall also spoke with WrestleZone about his latest AEW persona being true to life and linked to his New Jersey roots; read more about his gimmicks over the years at this link.
