Nyla Rose won’t be able to compete this weekend, but she says it still pays to be Dark Order adjacent.
AEW star Nyla Rose has tested positive for COVID-19 and she will now be unable to perform at Enjoy Wrestling’s live event on Saturday. Enjoy Wrestling announced the news in a tweet on January 19; Rose was scheduled to face Edith Surreal at the company’s “Striking Distance” show on January 22, but her positive test will prevent her from competing at the event.
Rose is a former AEW Women’s World Champion, and she regularly competes on AEW programming. Her most recent match aired on the January 12 episode of AEW Rampage; in a trios bout, she teamed up with Penelope Ford and The Bunny to defeat Kris Statlander, “Legit” Leyla Hirsch, and Red Velvet. It has now been revealed that AEW’s Evil Uno will replace Nyla as Edith Surreal’s opponent on the card. Nyla posted the following in response to the match change:
“It absolutely breaks my heart to have to cancel shows… but in this case it would have been incredibly negligent of myself no to do so. However there are benefits to being dark order adjacent,” Nyla wrote on Twitter.
We searched high and low for a suitable opponent for @edithsurreal and we finally found one in the darkest corner of the wrestling universe.
This Sat. we give you the opportunity to #EnjoyTheDarkOrder
