Cameron Grimes Beats Tony D’Angelo, Earns NXT North American Title Shot

Cameron Grimes might be going to the moon, and Pete Dunne may have just earned himself another moniker other than “The BruiserWeight.”

On the January 25 episode of WWE NXT 2.0, “Cricket Bat” Pete cost his rival, Tony D’Angelo, his chance at challenging for the NXT North American Championship. That opportunity went to the victor in Cameron Grimes, who secured the pinfall against D’Angelo after Dunne came out from ringside with a cricket bat in hand to exact vengeance. Dunne’s interference threw “Tony D” off his rhythm and punched Grimes’ ticket to Vengeance Day, where he’ll challenge North American Champion Carmelo Hayes.

D’Angelo recently beat Dunne in a Crowbar on a Pole match and subsequently held a memorial service for him; but with Dunne’s appearance on Tuesday, it seems like his NXT career is alive and well.
