Report: Update On WWE’s Royal Rumble Plans, How Long Brock Lesnar Had Been Set To Win

There appear to be conflicting reports regarding who was scheduled to win the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble match this week.

Yesterday, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Riddle was scheduled to win the Royal Rumble heading into Saturday’s premium live event before the decision was changed to Brock Lesnar.

But according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, “top talent and longtime names in the company” have told him that Riddle was never scheduled to win the match at any point.

Sapp was also told that the plan for Brock Lesnar to win the match was penciled in “at least” two weeks ago and went as far as to state that people close to Riddle say he was never informed that he would be winning the 2022 Men’s Rumble match.

Prior to Lesnar, another name was previously discussed to win the men’s battle royal,  but it wasn’t Riddle.
