Does CM Punk fear HOOK? In his own words, the former world champion is concerned about the potential legal ramifications of facing him.
In an interview with Abe Kanan, the renowned star was discussing some of the exciting matches he wants to face in AEW when he brought up Taz’s son. Punk acknowledged the memes fans continue to make about him before he noted that he wouldn’t want to “get in trouble” for wrestling HOOK because he’s a teenager.
“That kid, you know, for the first time, like somebody’s making memes like saying, ‘So-and-so fears HOOK. CM Punk fears Hook.” Yeah, 100%. I’m 43 years old, he’s like 16. I don’t want to get in trouble, you know, you’re gonna hurt a teenager. You go to jail for that sort of thing nowadays.”
Earlier in the interview, “The Second City Saint” named Cody Rhodes as one dream match because he’d like to “mess” with the former AEW TNT Champion. He emphasized other dream matches that he has brought up before; from facing Jon Moxley to potentially teaming up with Bryan Danielson, he’s looking forward to working with many AEW stars.
“If you look at it, really, Cody, Cody’s a big one,” said Punk. “I’d really like to mess with Cody and his fans. Mr. ‘I Don’t Wanna Be A Bad Guy’, like I’ll tell you what you’re gonna be. Young Bucks, I’m always backstage pitching ideas for me and a tag partner against the Young Bucks. I really wanna tag with Bryan Danielson. I’ll fight him, I’ll fight him too.
“How about Jon Moxley? I’ve never wrestled Jon Moxley. I wrestled Dean Ambrose, you know what I mean?”
Punk has only been with AEW for a few months, but it’s clear that there are still plenty of compelling matchups on the table.
