Powerhouse Hobbs: Team Taz Is Like ‘A Pot Of Gumbo’, We All Have Different Flavors

Powerhouse Hobbs is having a great time as a member of Team Taz.

The breakout star has been featured in several high-profile matches during his time with the group; he memorably faced CM Punk at AEW Rampage: Grand Slam. As a faction, Team Taz continues to click, and the group’s powerhouse believes there’s a specific reason for this success.

During an appearance on Tuesday Wrestling Tuesday with Jonathan Hood, Hobbs compared all of the members to ingredients in a pot of gumbo and noted how they all blend well together. He pointed out how they all bring a different “flavor” to the table, and when they’re put together, they make a perfect combination.

“I love the faction I’m in,” said Hobbs. “We all bring something different to the table. That’s the most interesting thing about being in Team Taz. Ricky Starks has his own flavor. Hook has his own flavor. I got my own flavor. Taz is the mastermind of it. It’s like mixing a pot of gumbo. You got your different seasonings and everything in it, so it all blends well.”

Hobbs went on to put over Taz as a leader and praised the way the veteran has been passing on his killer instinct to the members of the group.

“Taz is great as a leader,” said Hobbs. “There’s been times Taz has pulled me aside and been like, ‘Hey, you’re an assassin. You’re a killer. I need you to go do this. I need you to go handle that.’ And that’s what I do.

“Taz, I mean, you’re a longtime wrestling fan, so you know what Taz brought to the table throughout his career. That’s what he’s been putting into Hook into Ricky Starks into myself is we need to go out and be these assassins be these killers because we know what we are, and we just need the world to see what we are.”

Team Taz scored its latest win Friday night on AEW Rampage, when Ricky Starks successfully defended the FTW Championship against Jay Lethal.
