Sami Zayn Would Love To Modernize A Popular Bret Hart WWE Storyline

There’s no denying that so many of today’s Canadian professional wrestlers see WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart as an inspiration to them when they were growing up, SmackDown Superstar Sami Zayn included.

Sami Zayn was recently interviewed by Sportsnet for their feature on Bret “The Hitman” Hart. During their discussion, Zayn revealed that he’d loved to do a modern-day storyline of what Hart did in 1997 where he was a babyface everywhere but The United States as it made for some very interesting television in the early days of the Attitude era.

“I would love to do a more modernized version, a bit more of an intellectual approach, a bit more of a factual approach to what Bret did in 1997 because I thought it was revolutionary,” Sami Zayn said. “It’s never been done before and it’s never been done since. Global hero, despised in one country like that. It was revolutionary, we all remember it, we all rave about it to this day.”

If anyone on the current WWE roster could pull this off properly, it would probably be someone like Sami Zayn.
