FinJuice, JONAH And More Set For 2/12 NJPW STRONG

New Japan Pro-Wrestling will deliver a buzzworthy edition of NJPW STRONG on January 12.

FinJuice, JONAH, and Josh Barnett, among other noteworthy names, will compete on the show, which will showcase some of the New Beginning USA tour.

The card is as follows:

  • FinJuice (Juice Robinson and David Finlay) vs. JONAH and Bad Dude Tito
  • Josh Barnett vs. Ren Narita
  • Hikuleo vs. Cody Chhun

The preview, courtesy of the NJPW website, is as follows:

FinJuice (Juice Robinson & David Finlay) vs. Bad Dude Tito & JONAH

One of the hottest free agents in wrestling when he made his debut at Battle in the Valley, JONAH’s impressive power was of little surprise to both the competitors and fans of NJPW STRONG. Bad Dude Tito though, who was unknown to many when he debuted opposite Juice Robinson at Nemesis, was a bigger shock. Tito’s athleticism and power saw him to a near win over Juice, but when Robinson called out JONAH in victory, Tito had another surprise up his sleeve.

Hooking Juice’s heel, Tito setup JONAH to beat down the flamboyant one, before David Finlay made the save. FinJuice were quick to demand revenge and now have their chance. JONAH and Tito are no doubt impressive individuals, but a tag environment is FinJuice’s wheelhouse. Will this be where the ‘Top Dog’s freight train momentum gets halted?

Ren Narita vs. Josh Barnett

A month removed from being tested by Katsuyori Shibata in the Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Kingdom 16, Ren Narita faces another tough challenge in the form of Josh Barnett. The Warmaster made his return to NJPW after 17 years at Detonation, where he gave the seal of approval to the now graduated Alex Coughlin. Now the former UFC champion will test Narita’s mettle; can the young prospect prove his worth?

Cody Chhun vs. Hikuleo

Starting the evening’s action, Cody Chhun makes his debut on NJPW STRONG opposite Hikuleo. With Seattle’s DEFY as his home promotion, and being one of the company’s most popular wrestlers, Chhun has the home crowd advantage, but might the imposing BULLET CLUB Young Gun present the kind of obstacle even fan support can’t overcome?

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
