Alex Gracia ‘Amicably Parts Ways’ With WOW, Clarifies AEW Status

Alex Gracia won’t be part of the WOW revival after all.

Gracia posted the following statement on Twitter, explaining that she had parted ways with WOW: Women Of Wrestling and added that she didn’t see the company as a good fit for her current goals.

“Starting today, WOW and I have amicably parted ways as I did not see them as a good fit for my current goals and brand. I wish them nothing but the best and I still plan to support the current girls who are there working hard to show you that Superheroes are real.”

Alex Gracia was on the WOW roster announced as part of the revival in October 2021. The brand plans to return with new weekly episodes in the fall of 2022 that will air on ViacomCBS networks; archived episodes currently air on The CW app and Pluto TV.

Gracia had a steady run with AEW between September 2020 and March 2021 with AEW, appearing on the company’s Dark and Elevation shows. She later started working for Ring Of Honor for its Women’s Championship tournament and made some more appearances on NWA Powerrr, leading to questions about her status with AEW. Now, Gracia followed up the WOW post with an additional statement, explaining that she left AEW by choice. Gracia said she had other opportunities coming up, but remained thankful to AEW for keeping her in the ring during the pandemic.

“I’ve been wanting to clear this up for a while. I chose to stop being an extra for AEW on my own terms. I had NWA, ROH & WWE reaching out so I went. AEW gave me a job during the pandemic & I expressed to them how grateful I was for the opportunities. It’s as simple as that lol”

Gracia’s most recent match was a title win over Ivelisse at Ragin’ Pro Wrestling’s “Redemption” event in January.
