Inner Circle Tensions Rise, Sammy Guevara Threatens To Quit

After growing frustrated with his Inner Circle teammates last week, Chris Jericho called the group into the ring during tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

In a mandatory Inner Circle Team Meeting, Jericho was shocked to see that Ortiz & Santana showed up, although neither were wearing Inner Circle vests. Jericho asked the pair why they wouldn’t take him in during a tag team match two weeks ago, to which Santana said that lately, he hasn’t been seeing the cup as half full, and that sometimes, you just have to call a spade a spade.

He then accused Jericho of only caring about himself, and that any chance he and Ortiz have had a chance at success, Jericho has shoved it down and thrown it to the side. He then said that the pair were done playing second fiddle to Jericho and the rest of the Inner Circle.

An angered Jericho compared Santana to Eddy Guerrero, saying that he was getting all hyped up and then blame everyone else for the problems. Jericho continued, saying that he was the main attraction for the Inner Circle, and that he brought them into the group, and would kick them out.

Jericho then asked Jake if he had the numbers to Homicide and Hernandez before Santana rushed Jericho. Sammy Guevara tried to stop things, saying that the group was a family before Jericho yelled at him to shut up. Guevara stayed quiet for a moment before saying that they are a family, but that fighting constantly won’t help him in his pursuit of being the greatest champion wrestling has ever seen, and Sammy took his vest off and threw it down.

Things ended with Santana & Ortiz agreeing to face off against Chris Jericho and Jake Hager in a tag team match on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, with Jericho saying that perhaps if he slaps around the pair of them, their attitudes will change.
