Zack Clayton loves the vibe that AEW’s studio shows have.
Clayton spoke with WrestleZone about his work with All Elite Wrestling, which includes matches on AEW Dark and Elevation. Clayton worked the most recent Dark taping that took place at Universal Studios in Orlando [a loss to Tony Nese that aired], and spoke about the atmosphere in the studio setting compared to an arena.
“I love the Universal shows,” Clayton said. “I love the shows because one, I love Universal [Studios]. My fiancée and I love [the park]. She’s not coming with me this time because we’re starting to film for MTV but usually I bring her down with me and we try and take an extra day and explore the park, so it’s an excuse to go to the park. Secondly, I love being down there because the atmosphere and the environment is just great for a wrestling show. I don’t know the exact number but it holds a couple hundred in attendance and it’s like an indie show where it’s personal, but with a big production. The setup is fantastic, it’s just amazing with the soundstage and the acoustics are great. It’s a small, intimate environment that really is awesome for wrestling. I love those shows, it’s just a very relaxed [setting]. We can do our thing in the ring, because it is pre-recorded, it’s just chill and fun and it’s a great vibe.”
Clayton also spoke about AEW’s work with Kulture City and how it’s good to know he’s working with a company that has a solid foundation for its community outreach program, and one that he also works with himself.
“Cody and Brandi Rhodes of AEW are on the same Kulture City board as my fiancée [Jersey Shore’s Jenni ‘J-WOWW’ Farley]. I work very closely with Kulture City as well, so seeing the inner workings of that and now it’s been connected with AEW and having sensory inclusion at all of their events,” Clayton explained, “I just had Jenni and the kids at the Newark [Dynamite event on January 5], they were ringside. And Kulture City and the Barclays Center Sensory Room [named in honor of Farley’s son, Greyson], that was all brought up backstage and everyone’s very proud and happy to see that. It’s a great thing, it’s a good thing to be involved with a company that cares like that. And a company that makes it a priority to care, not just stamps their name on it and says ‘Yeah, we do this too.’ No, they make that an important aspect of their foundation which I appreciate. I’m proud to be attached to that in the way that I am.”
