WWE is bringing back Saturday Night’s Main Event in April.
Saturday Night’s Main Event was WWE’s primetime special that ran on NBC, and now the company is reviving the name for a third time.
Two upcoming events are being branded with the “Saturday Night’s Main Event” name in April:
- Saturday, April 23 – Montgomery, AL
- Saturday, April 30 – Lakeland, FL
Becky Lynch, Bobby Lashley, Bianca Belair, Seth Rollins, Damian Priest and Kevin Owens are all advertised for the Lakeland event on event graphics for the Lakeland event. AJ Styles, Matt Riddle and Rhea Ripley are also advertised on the event page, which also notes that this is a RAW roster event. No other information was available at press time for the Montgomery event.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event was a television special that consisted of 31 events that originally aired on NBC (and later FOX) from 1985 to 1992. The series was revived for the second time in 2006 and it produced five events before being phased out again in 2008.
It’s unclear if WWE has any plans to broadcast the new events or expand the theme beyond these two initial events, but WrestleZone will continue to provide updates as new information is learned.
