On the special “Slam Dunk” edition of AEW Rampage on February 18, Powerhouse Hobbs faced Dante Martin in a Face of the Revolution Qualifying Match. This contest was the latest chapter in their lengthy feud; Martin has been engaged in a rivalry with Hobbs and Team Taz for the past few months. The two men have split their previous two singles encounters.

Hobbs attacks Martin before the bell, but Martin takes the fight to him. He stuns Hobbs with two dropkicks and goes for a dive, but Powerhouse knocks him off the rope. Hobbs trucks over Martin and sends him crashing to the floor. The big man tosses Martin back into the ring and sends him flying across the canvas. Hobbs is utterly dominating the opening minutes. Martin rallies, but Hobbs flattens him with a body check. The fan-favorite keeps fighting and takes Hobbs down with a corkscrew dive to the outside. In the end, Hobbs scores the win with a nasty spinebuster.

With the win, Hobbs joins Keith Lee and Wardlow in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match, which will be held at AEW Revolution.
