Austin Theory is headed to WrestleMania 38, and he’ll meet Pat McAfee there in the ring.
During the March 4 episode of WWE SmackDown, Theory came down to the ring, where he began bragging about how he’s the new protege of Vince McMahon. He then turned his attention to McAfee on commentary, and said that McMahon actually hates McAfee, and set up the commentator when he appeared on McAfee’s show earlier this week.
Theory then jumped down and made his way to the announce table, where he asked what McAfee’s going to do when Theory beats him up so bad he’d have to wire his mouth shut. McAfee stood up to face Theory, wondering what was going on, before the cocky star announced that he would be McAfee’s opponent at WrestleMania 38. He then proceeded to slap the commentator in the face.

Vince McMahon has been mentoring Theory on WWE RAW since November, and the former NXT standout took issue with the WWE Chairman’s appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on March 3. This concern seemingly set up his conflict with McAfee, who previously wrestled twice in NXT before he joined the SmackDown broadcast team.
