Scorpio Sky upset Sammy Guevara to win the TNT Championship on Dynamite this week, and now each competitor has commented on what the match meant for them.
Guevara, who was in his second reign as champion, called the situation a “beautiful journey” that would still continue with or without the title.
Guevara wrote [sic]:
What a beautiful journey. The ups and the downs, Grateful for it all.
I tired my best & gave everything I had to show the TNT Title is the most important title in professional wrestling.
Last night wasn’t my night but it doesn’t mean tomorrow won’t be.
The journey continues…
Scorpio Sky, on the other hand, was more direct in his post-match comments and said that he deserved the title win, and later posted a photo of the title along with a “Black And Proud” t-shirt:

Going into the title match, AEW advertised that Scorpio Sky had gone unbeaten for 364 days, with Thursday marking a full year without a singles loss in the company. In that time, Sky had acquired a 13-0 singles record on AEW Dark and Elevation. His last singles loss was a TNT Championship match against Darby Allin on March 10, 2021.
