Reported Details About ROH Supercard of Honor: Nixed Plans, Roster Notes, And More

Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor is shaping up to be a special show. It will be the promotion’s first of the year since it went on hiatus for the first quarter of 2022. Likewise, Supercard of Honor will kick off a new era for the company, as AEW President Tony Khan recently became its owner. Needless to say, the spotlight will be on the event, which will be held at the Curtis Culwell Center in Dallas, Texas, on April 1.

A new report from Fightful Select has offered a glimpse at the process behind putting the show together. First, the road to booking the long-awaited dream match between FTR and The Briscoes featured plenty of “ups and downs”. Fightful previously reported that WarnerMedia was against having The Briscoes on AEW TV, leading some to speculate that the bout wouldn’t happen. That being said, the buzzworthy clash has been made official after “everyone involved worked hard” to make it happen.

Fightful’s report also dove into a few noteworthy bits of news regarding the roster. First and foremost, it seems clear that the company will be making plenty of changes under Khan’s ownership. Former head booker Delirious will “no longer be committed” to ROH following Supercard of Honor. As for the wrestlers themselves, Fightful noted that many previous members of the roster have not heard from the new management, so at the moment, it doesn’t seem like former ROH mainstays won’t be involved with the company unless they currently have a contract.

Plus, while the previous creative team had been making some plans for ROH Supercard of Honor, Khan’s purchase has changed the direction. Fightful reports that Killer Kross and Scarlett were set for the show, but they haven’t heard from the new ownership.

Lastly, Fightful reported that fans can expect at least one person on the Supercard event to wind up signing with AEW and/or ROH.
