Johnny Knoxville Says Talking Sh-t About Sami Zayn Has Become His Favorite Pastime

Johnny Knoxville can’t wait to step in the ring with Sami Zayn at WrestleMania.

Ahead of his WrestleMania 38 match against Sami Zayn, Johnny Knoxville spoke with Bleacher Report about his ongoing feud with the WWE star. Knoxville says he feels very fortunate because he’s getting to perform on a huge stage like WrestleMania, and fans have been very accepting of him in the WWE Universe so far.

“By perform, you mean “Kick Sami Zayn in the face?” I feel like the luckiest guy in the world to be able to perform at WrestleMania and for all the things that have happened in my life. I get the joke, how it could have went, with my barely high school education,” Knoxville said, “so no one is more appreciative than me.”

Asked why he feels like he’s been so welcomed compared to other celebrities in WWE, Knoxville believes Jackass allows him to have a bit of legitimacy when he steps in the ring.

“I don’t…I heard that the wrestling fans don’t react to all the celebrities and I’m just so grateful that they have accepted me. Maybe it has something to do with what I do for a living, as far as the stunts in Jackass are concerned. So, hopefully, there’s a legitimacy there with me being in the ring,” Knoxville noted, “But I don’t know. Hopefully, they know I’m committed to this and taking it very seriously; training a lot and talking sh-t about Sami Zayn whenever I can. It’s grown to be my favorite pastime. Have you ever met him?”

Knoxville said it’d be easy to understand his animosity toward Zayn if you ever met him, noting that it’s immediately obviously why they have friction with each other. Knoxville also said that he will have some of the Jackass crew in his corner at WrestleMania, but will do his best to keep them on the sidelines instead of getting involved in the action.

“I’ll definitely have some guys there. And I’ll do my best to keep them out of the ring. This is between me and Sami, but I don’t know,” Knoxville stated, ”Sami brings out the worst in everybody.”
