Paul Heyman On Re-Signing With WWE: They Made It ‘Very Easy’, I’m Locked In ‘For The Long Term’

Paul Heyman is staying with WWE for the foreseeable future.

Heyman first revealed the news during an interview with  Richard Deitsch on the Sports Media podcast, where he noted that he re-signed a long-term deal.

During an appearance on “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani, Roman Reigns’ “The Special Counsel” elaborated by explaining that he didn’t want to make his contract negotiations a public matter, so he quietly put pen to paper last year.

“The fact is I re-signed last year,” said Heyman. “I just didn’t make a public spectacle of it. And a lot of people later have been negotiating through the media. And it works for them, and god bless them for doing it. But that’s not my style. I never wanted to negotiate my contracts through the media.”

As for his decision to re-sign, Heyman stated that WWE made it “very easy” for him, and he’s confident that both sides will continue to be happy and comfortable with each other moving forward.

“A year ago when my contract was coming due, it was a very easy decision, WWE made it very easy for me, and they locked me in for the long term,” said Heyman. “I don’t wanna discuss how long of a term it is. Long enough for both parties to be real happy with each other and real comfortable with each other and happy with each other’s contributions to each other.”

Heyman remains featured alongside Roman Reigns on WWE SmackDown. He’ll accompany “The Tribal Chief” to the ring for his high-profile bout against Brock Lesnar at WWE WrestleMania 38.
