Seth Rollins: Come To WWE If You Want To Be The Best, Don’t Play ‘Rinky-Dink’ Elsewhere

Seth Rollins believes that WWE has the best wrestlers in the world, bar none.

Rollins, a former WWE Universal Champion, is one of the most decorated veterans on the WWE roster today. While he has been a mainstay, he has seen plenty of stars on the roster leave the company and thrive elsewhere. His former stablemate in The Shield, Jon Moxley, won the AEW World Championship a few months after he signed with the promotion.

This past Saturday, Rollins faced former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes in the latter’s return to the company. Rhodes is now the first star who has departed AEW and signed with WWE.

In an interview with The Gorilla Position, when asked who he wants to see follow Rhodes’ footsteps, he explained that anybody who wants to be the best should come to WWE. He called the company the “premier professional wrestling company on the planet” and stated that WWE is the big leagues, as it’s the place to see whether one can hang with top-tier talent. Rollins also noted that wrestling elsewhere is playing “rinky-dink”, though he also complimented those who are competing in other companies.

“I mean anybody who wants to come work in the big leagues. I said to him last night, I said it before, this is the premier professional wrestling company on the planet. I know, oh don’t say professional wrestling. Doesn’t matter. We have the best in the world, and now we have Cody Rhodes on top of that, and he is joining that club. So if you wanna be the best, don’t go play rinky-dink. Come here, do your thing here. We are the best. Top-notch across the board.

“And I’m not taking anything away from anybody else who’s anywhere else. I love it, do what you do, you guys are tremendous, there’s great talents out there. But this is where you are the best. This is where you find out if you can hack it on the top, top, top, top level.”

In the same interview, Rolins gave Rhodes credit for becoming a bigger star after he left WWE, and he linked Cody’s work ethic to that of his father, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes.

“Cody did it his way,” said Rollins. “He left when he was unhappy, he went out and he went out and he did all the things that everybody said they wanted to do, and he came back a bigger star than he’s ever been. And that’s not easy to do, that takes a lot of hard work. And I think he learned that ethic from his father.”

On this week’s episode of WWE RAW, Rhodes vowed to win the world title in honor of his father.
