FTR Defeats The Young Bucks, Retains The ROH And AAA Tag Titles On 4/6 AEW Dynamite

The April 6 episode of AEW Dynamite featured a huge main event, as FTR defended both the Ring of Honor and AAA World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks.

FTR won the ROH World Tag Team Championship at ROH Supercard of Honor last Friday by defeating The Briscoes. After the match, The Young Bucks attacked The Briscoes and accepted FTR’s challenge to a match. The Young Bucks have held both titles in the past, so they were hoping to add another two championship reigns to their impressive resume. This bout was a rematch of their clash at AEW Full Gear 2020, where Matt and Nick Jackson emerged victorious.

After a hard-fought battle that will likely go down as an instant classic, FTR scored the win. The Young Bucks threw everything they had at the champions, and they broke the rules on multiple occasions with a belt shot and a low blow. The Jacksons nearly won the gold when they hit the BTE Trigger on Cash Wheeler, but he for his foot on the ropes. The referee counted the pin and reversed his decision when he realized Wheeler’s foot was on the ropes. FTR subsequently hit the BTE Trigger and the Big Rig to secure the three count.
