Wardlow Helps Capt. Shawn Dean Beat MJF Again

Thanks to Wardlow, Capt. Shawn Dean picked up another unlikely win over MJF on the April 13 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Dean previously defeated MJF due to the interference of CM Punk; the disqualification finish was the first in AEW Dynamite history. Likewise, the rematch turned out to be historic as well.

“The Salt of the Earth” dominated the contest, but the arrival of Wardlow, his former bodyguard, wound up being a twist of fate for the three-time Dynamite Diamond Ring winner. Though MJF has been trying to make Wardlow sit out his contract at home, “Mr. Mayhem” continues to invade Dynamite and wreak havoc. That’s exactly what he did on Wednesday; he attacked security guards backstage and dressed up as one before he made his way into the arena. He then confronted MJF and sent his employer running. MJF tried to convince referee Bryce Remsburg not to count him out, but the official counted to ten. As a result, Dean picked up the first countout win in AEW Dynamite history.

After the match, Wardlow assaulted more guards backstage and grabbed a camera; he told MJF that he wouldn’t stop until “The Salt of the Earth” released him from his contract.

Later in the show, MJF revealed that part of Wardlow’s contract enables him to book the powerhouse as he sees fit. The leader of The Pinnacle vowed to put “Mr. Mayhem” to work and stated the best way to “slaughter a pig” was a butcher. The Butcher then walked onto the scene after Alex The Assistant took the cash, seemingly setting up a match between Wardlow and The Butcher.
