Sammy Guevara has dethroned Scorpio Sky to become the new AEW TNT Champion.
During Saturday’s AEW: Battle of the Belts II event, Sammy and Sky ment in the ring for the title, and in a chaotic match that featured a ton of back-and-forth shenanigans from both superstars, it was Guevara that walked out with the belt, much to the crowd’s chagrin.
During the match, both Ethan Page and Dan Lambert made their way down to the ring to try and run interference, resulting in Tay Conti coming down to the ring and also getting involved. However, Conti’s involvement would also usher in Paige VanZant, who came down to the ring and began brawling with Conti at ringside. In the chaos of the multiple brawls happening, Guevara hit Sky with a low blow, dropping the superstar to the ground and resulting in an easy pin for Guevara.
For Sammy, this will be his third title reign with the company, and sees Guevara regain the title after losing it to Sky during an episode of AEW Dynamite about a month ago.
