Carmelo Hayes will have a chance to regain the NXT North American Championship on the special “Spring Breakin'”episode of WWE NXT 2.0 on May 3.
On the April 19 episode, Hayes defeated Santos Escobar in a hard-fought match. Escobar had been hoping to send Hayes, a former champion, to the back of the line so he could challenge for the gold himself. Instead, two mystery men attacked him late in the match, and Hayes pinned the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion for the win.

After the bell, Hayes challenged NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes to a rematch at NXT Breakin’. Grimes accepted the challenge, and with Hayes distracted, Solo Sikoa attacked the former champion and his hype man, Trick Williams. The latter cost his title match against Grimes on the April 19 episode.
