Another Competitor Qualifies For Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament On 5/4 AEW Dynamite

The May 4 episode of AEW Dynamite featured a buzzworthy clash between two fan-favorite stars in an Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament qualifier.

On Wednesday night, Rey Fenix competed in an AEW ring for the first time since he injured his arm on the January 5 episode when he faced Dante Martin. The latter has had an impressive breakout run as a singles wrestler, though he lost his past two matches in two consecutive episodes of AEW Dynamite heading into Wednesday’s show.

Early on, Fenix took flight and dove onto Martin outside the ring. Back in the ring, the two men felt each other out with fast-paced offense. Martin gained momentum with a dive of his own, and he took control of the bout.

Fenix rallied and showcased the innovative offense he’s known for. Martin fought back, and they two men kept going back and forth. In the end, Fenix slammed Martin to the mat from a modified Tombstone position for the win.

With the victory, Fenix joins Jeff Hardy, Dax Harwood, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Darby Allin, and Samoa Joe in the bracket. The tournament will begin on the May 11 episode of AEW Dynamite.
