Nikki Bella has a new gig.
According to a new press release issued by USA Network (via Futon Critic), Nikki Bella will be hosting “Barmageddon”, a new celebrity game show from Carson Daly and Blake Shelton. The show takes place at the latter’s Ole Red bar in Nashville, and it will see celebrity friends battle in a head-to-head series of bar games with a twist, competing for “a much-needed prize for a viral Internet sensation each has chosen to support.”
“Nashville is known for great music and hospitality, which makes it the perfect setting,” Shelton said. “I’m excited about ‘Barmageddon’ and can’t wait for friends, old and new, to join my buddy Carson and me for some drinks, music and high-spirited fun at Ole Red.”
“Blake, Lee and I wanted to create a show where the audience can feel like they’re hanging out with us at Ole Red in Nashville, having a drink and cheering on friends as they compete in the ultimate test of athleticism and endurance – bar games!” Daly said.
Games on the show include Air Cannon Cornhole, Keg Curling, Drunken Axe Hole, Sharts (“Shelton Darts”) and many more. “Barmageddon” is produced by White Label Productions and JLP Pictures for USA with Blake Shelton, Carson Daly, Lee Metzger, and White Label’s Chris Wagner serving as executive producers.
Daly spoke about the new series on Thursday’s episode of TODAY, where he serves as an anchor for the show’s “flagship hours” of the broadcast.
“Here’s the pitch — it’s called ‘Barmageddon.’ They say write what you know, well we produce what we know. We know bars and having fun,” Daly said. “they play five rounds of ridiculous bar games. Blake and his house band [play during the shows] and there’s music, we have WWE Hall Of Famer Nikki Bella as our host and it’s just — the world is a complex place, and this show is the opposite of that. This is just down home fun.”
