Alex Shelley missed IMPACT Under Siege, but he’s at the TV tapings on May 8.
According to the The Wrestling Observer, while Shelley did not make his scheduled appearance on Saturday, he’s in attendance at the tapings in Newport, Kentucky. IMPACT Wrestling had advertised Shelley for a match with “Speedball” Mike Bailey at Under Siege; the bout was announced on May 3, and it was featured on the company’s day of show preview.
Instead of the scheduled bout, Bailey competed in a three-way contest against Laredo Kid and Rich Swann. Meanwhile, Shelley faced Kevin Blackwood at a No Peace Underground/RPW show; his involvement had been advertised since April.
It’s currently unclear why Shelley was advertised for the bout when he was scheduled to be elsewhere. The Wrestling Observer wrote that neither side has responded to inquiries about the situation.
