Wardlow is bettering himself each and every week.
During an interview on Superstar Crossover with Y100’s Josh Martinez, Wardlow was asked who the “MVP” of his career would be. Wardlow said there were a few people in mind, thanking them for their help in getting him to AEW.
“Cody Rhodes. Man, honestly there’s a few people. I would say QT Marshall, Cody Rhodes. I might have to tip my hat to Britt Baker for bringing my name up multiple times to them. As far as me being here at this stage in AEW, it was really a big thanks to those guys,” Wardlow said.
Wardlow then credited Billy Gunn as the most important to his character development, noting how Gunn has given him a range of great advice every week.
“Billy Gunn. Billy Gunn has been my coach for the majority of my time in AEW so every single match, he always has had a piece of advice for me. Every single match, he’s given me, even if it’s just one little tweak,” Wardlow explained, “he gives me something to work on for next week and I love it. I literally obsess over what he says for a whole week and then I get to correct that the next week. And that’s honestly exciting for me to do, to just know that I’m bettering myself every week and challenge myself to work on these things.”
Wardlow also noted that the members of The Pinnacle have helped him as well, including FTR’s Dax and Cash. Wardlow will be on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite for a contract signing to face MJF at AEW Double Or Nothing in Las Vegas.
