Brett Weitz Exits As General Manager Of TNT, TBS, truTV

Brett Weitz is leaving his role as General Manager of TNT, TBS, and truTV, according to a recent report from Deadline.

Weitz will be transitioning out of his role within the next 30 days, with his last day marking his 14th anniversary with the company. Weitz’s departure comes just a few weeks after the merger of Discovery and WarnerMedia, with Weitz’s position having been eliminated after the U.S. Networks Group Division was restructured under Discovery’s Kathleen Finch, who will take over and run the TNets.

“These past 14 years have been the most fulfilling of my career,” Weitz said in a statement. “I’ve had the great fortune to create and launch Emmy-winning fan-favorite entertainment, to be a part of powerful life-changing initiatives, and most importantly to have had the privilege to lead the most talented, dedicated, altruistic, and innovative team at the TNets. We made huge profits for shareholders and brilliant content for fans while having the most fun and being better partners with talent than any team I’ve ever been a part of. I will for sure continue to root for you all.”

Currently, it’s unclear what this transition means for the likes of All Elite Wrestling. Under Weitz, AEW was able to expand much more than its initial AEW Dynamite broadcasting, opening up multiple other broadcasts as well as growing its brand recognition in the process.
