Killer Kross vs. Tony Nese Confirmed For The Wrestling Showcase

Killer Kross finally knows who he’ll face off with at The Wrestling Showcase and it’s a match that he’s taking very seriously.

Tony Nese was confirmed as the latest participant for The Wrestling Showcase tournament on Saturday, and now WrestleZone is proud to reveal that Nese will be stepping into the ring against Killer Kross on the show. During a recent interview with Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux, WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard revealed that Kross versus Nese was set for the tournament, the first matchup confirmed for the event.

Asked if they’d like to know who the opponent was, Scarlett deadpanned that they wanted “to know who’s going to die in September.” Kross initially praised him as a main-event caliber competitor but warned that all of the talent in the world won’t help Nese when they finally face off.

“I met Tony Nese back in NXT and I was already familiar with his work prior to having anything to do with WWE. I always knew that we were going to be in the ring together at some point, and it’s actually pretty interesting that it’s going to be [at The Wrestling Showcase]. I’ve always said, honestly, Tony Nese is a guy that nobody should be sleeping on,” Kross noted. “This is the part where people are like, ‘Ah, he’s going to put him over and speak really highly of him…’ No, for real, I think he’s on the level of Kenny Omega, he’s a guy that could carry a company, a guy that could main event. He’s a guy that could do 30 [minutes] or an hour in a ring and barely break a sweat.

“That’s a shoot, but I’m telling you right now, I’m the last person on Earth he should want to be in the f-ckin’ ring with, because I will beat the shit out of him. And it’s nothing personal, that’s where you have to go when you’re in the ring with him, when you want to beat someone like that. It’s not going to be a good night for him,” Kross said. “I’m taking this very seriously, and he’s a serious opponent for me. That’s where my mind’s at, I was not expecting that.”

The Wrestling Showcase is a new event featuring a one-night, eight-man tournament set to take place on All Out weekend in Schaumburg, Illinois. Competitors confirmed for the tournament so far include Matt Cardona, Steve Maclin, Killer Kross, Jacob Fatu and Tony Nese. Deonna Purrazzo and Taya Valkyrie will also be in action at the event in non-tournament matches.
