A former WWE NXT star made their AEW debut at the May 18 taping of AEW Rampage. Spoilers are available below.
At the taping, which was held after AEW Dynamite from the Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, Shawn Spears was set to compete. His opponent turned out to be Big Damo, formerly known as Killian Dain.
Spears defeated Damo and, in a post-match promo, bragged about being a “giant killer” ahead of his Steel Cage Match against Wardlow on the May 25 episode of AEW Dynamite.

WWE released “The Beast of Belfast” on June 25, 2021. He had been a member of the NXT brand for the final stretch of his run with the company; previously, he was briefly called up to SmackDown as a member of SAnitY. In recent months, he has been active on the independent scene; he has wrestled for PROGRESS, DEFY, CYN, and OTT, among other promotions.
