MJF Reportedly Skips Scheduled Meet & Greet, More On AEW Status

Things don’t seem to be very well when it comes to the relationship between MJF and AEW.

AEW Superstar MJF was scheduled for a meet and greet with fans on Saturday just a day ahead of his Double or Nothing PPV contest with Wardlow. Fans were charged $100 for the opportunity to meet MJF who reportedly skipped the event and was deemed a no-show.

Multiple fans in attendance reported that no officials at the event was able to get in touch with MJF as he did not answer any phone calls. Security then informed fans that their options were to get a refund or visit a different superstar. Some fans even commented that they saw MJF in person during his scheduled meet and greet at the casino of his hotel.

It should be noted that a report from Fightful Select indicated that MJF is physically fine and there is nothing to be worried about from a health standpoint.

The report from Fightful further adds that a flight was actually scheduled as of late Saturday night for MJF to leave Las Vegas, although it was unknown if he actually got on that plane. Fightful was told by an AEW official that the company was ‘very unhappy with the way things played out.’

AEW talent has been told to not comment on the incident in public as the relationship between MJF and the company is reportedly at an all-time low. It was expressed by all parties that this is not a work and there are legitimate pay-scale concerns between the two sides.

AEW reportedly offered to discuss a new pay-scale and contract with MJF last month that would give him ‘top performer money’ but MJF reportedly blew that off. There is no word this time on the match scheduled between MJF and Wardlow but Wrestlezone will report any news at it develops.
