Jake Atlas Arrested, Charged With Domestic Assault

Former WWE NXT superstar and current member of All Elite Wrestling Jake Atlas was arrested last week in Orlando, Florida, and charged with misdemeanor battery (domestic assault) on his partner.

According to the police report, officers responded to a domestic violence call at the home of Atlas — Kenny Sanchez Martinez — and his partner at around 12:57 a.m. on May 23, 2022. The report alleges that Atlas was out drinking earlier in the night, and that when their partner arrived to pick them up, Atlas instead wanted his partner to remain to continue drinking.

Later in the night, Atlas allegedly wanted his partner to go back to another friend’s house to be intimate, but a verbal argument broke out. The report goes on to mention that Atlas became “physically aggressive” with his partner, charging at the victim before someone in the vicinity broke up the fight.

In the report, his partner said “he [the partner] showed the female half” more attention than Atlas, which upset Atlas. This started a huge verbal argument between him and Atlas.” In response, Atlas allegedly became aggressive and advanced toward his partner, but someone intervened and stopped him. Atlas then followed his partner when he left. He ultimately scratched his partner and tore his tank top before they were separated.

Fearing that Atlas would not leave or calm down, his partner called the police. Atlas signed a no-contact order agreeing to have no communication and to stay 500 feet away from the victim/his partner the same day he was arrested. He was released from jail the same day he was arrested. He is set to appear before Orange County, Florida court on June 28, where he will be officially arraigned at 7:30 AM.

Following the incident, Atlas signed a no-contact order; he agreed to have no communication with his partner and to stay at least 500 feet away. He was later released from jail the same day he was arrested, and is now set to appear in court on June 28, 2022, where he will be arraigned.

Atlas went down with an apparent leg injury during his AEW TV debut against Adam Cole, which aired on the January 7 episode of AEW Rampage. It had been unclear how extensive the injury was, but in a tweet on February 16, Atlas announced that he suffered a torn ACL.

As of this writing, neither AEW nor Atlas have commented on the arrest. Some fans have noticed that Atlas was recently removed from the company’s roster page, but nothing has been made official.
