Hangman Page will compete on the June 8 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Page lost the AEW World Championship to CM Punk at AEW Double or Nothing; he previously won the title at AEW Full Gear 2021. The former champion did not appear on the June 1 episode of Dynamite, but he’ll return next week.
On Wednesday night, the broadcast team announced that Page will face David Finlay of NJPW ahead of AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door. Finlay is a former IWGP and IMPACT Tag Team Champion.
More NJPW stars continue to pop up on AEW programing; Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan attacked FTR on the May 25 episode, and Hiroshi Tanahashi confronted Punk on the June 1 episode. Plus, Hikuleo teamed up with the Young Bucks and reDRagon on Wednesday.
