AEW Dynamite Viewership Increases On 6/22, Demo Rises As Well

AEW Dynamite viewership rises on June 22, heading into Forbidden Door.

According to Showbuzz Daily, 878,000 viewers watched the show on Wednesday night, and it drew a 0.31 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership was up from the June 8 episode, when 761,000 viewers tuned in. The demo increased from last week‘s episode which also drew a 0.28 rating in the same demographic.

With the increase in viewership and demo, AEW Dynamite once again tied with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for first place in the demographic among cable originals overall last night. The numbers might have been higher if not for the NHL Stanley Cup Finals coverage on ABC, which drew a large audience and demo, according to Showbuzz Daily.

This week’s show kicked off with Bryan Danielson announcing that he hasn’t been cleared to compete at Forbidden Door or Blood and Guts but also teased the arrival of a new member of the All Elite Wrestling roster. This person will be the latest member of the Blackpool Combat Club that will take his place in those upcoming matches. The main event saw Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi defeat Chris Jericho and Lance Archer when Tanahashi hit Archer with a frog splash to get the win. Moxley and Tanahashi stared each other down after the match, while a bunch of wrestlers involved in other feuds brawled around ringside to close the show.
