WWE Money In The Bank gears up for Las Vegas. Taya Valkyrie captures the XPW Women’s Championship. Gisele Shaw shares her pride story, and much more. Let’s break it down in this week’s edition of Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up!

Women’s Money In The Bank Preview

WWE Money in the Bank is right around the corner, including three high-stakes matchups on the card.

As of last night on Monday Night RAW, all seven competitors in the annual Money in the Bank ladder match have been confirmed. In the main event, Becky Lynch emerged victorious, clinching the win in a six pack challenge elimination match. There, Lynch took on Doudrop, Xia Li, Tamina, Nikki A.S.H. and Shayna Baszler in a last chance effort to qualify for Money in the Bank this Saturday. Each competitor has previously lost their respective qualifying matchup, but received an opportunity to claim the seventh and final slot in the 2022 Women’s Money in the Bank match.

A.S.H. emerged victorious in last year’s Money in the Bank match, later defeating Charlotte Flair for the RAW Women’s Championship. This year though, her hopes of replicating that achievement were smashed by a Dis-arm-her from Becky Lynch.

Winner- Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch now joins the field of seven in the 2022 Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match alongside Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi, and Asuka. Of the seven competitors, two have previously won the coveted briefcase. Alexa Bliss pulled off the victory in 2018, while Asuka captured the glory in 2020. In addition, Shotzi and Raquel will be entering their very first Money in the Bank ladder match.

WWE released the following statement on the matchup, slated for Saturday, July 2nd in Las Vegas:

The competition is heating up for the explosive 2022 Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, as seven elite female Superstars will fight through the chaos in a career-altering showdown in the hopes of climbing the ladder and seizing the prized Money in the Bank briefcase, which guarantees the winner a World Championship opportunity whenever and wherever they want.

Lacey Evans heroically returned to SmackDown to overcome Xia Li with the earth-shattering Women’s Right to become the first Superstar to qualify for the matchup during the June 10 edition of SmackDown.

On the following Monday on Raw, Alexa Bliss & Liv Morgan overcame Doudrop & Nikki A.S.H. to also qualify for the high-stakes matchup. Blue brand newcomer Raquel Rodriguez followed that up with an earth-shattering victory over Shayna Baszler to become the fourth competitor in the chaotic clash.

Asuka then joined the high stakes free-for-all with a victory over an irate Becky Lynch. Shotzi would be the next competitor to claim her place following an impressive win over Tamina on the blue brand.

On the June 27 edition of Raw, Becky Lynch out battled Doudrop, Nikki A.S.H.,Tamina, Xia Li and Shayna Baszler in an Elimination Match to earn the final spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Who will rise above the elite competition in the July 2 free-for-all? Who will rise above the competition, climb the rungs and seize the coveted contract for a guaranteed World Title Match in the next year?

Catch the jaw-dropping Money in the Bank Ladder Match on Saturday, July 2, at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live exclusively on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.

In addition to the Money in the Bank ladder match, both main roster women’s championships will be on the line. Bianca Belair will defend the RAW Women’s Championship against Carmella, while Ronda Rousey will defend the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Natalya.

Rhea Ripley was originally scheduled to face Bianca Belair, but unfortunately will not be medically cleared to compete in time for Money in the Bank. Instead, “The Most Beautiful Woman in WWE”  Carmella earned a title opportunity in her place after a Fatal 5-Way Match against Becky Lynch, Asuka, Liv Morgan and Alexa Bliss.

Similarly, Natalya emerged victorious in a six-pack challenge over Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi, Aliyah, Xia Li and Shayna Baszler a few weeks ago on Smackdown. In turn, “The Queen of Harts” received a title shot against her former friend for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Natalya will now face Ronda Rousey one-on-one this Saturday.
