Report: WWE NXT’s Next Streaming Event Tentatively Planned For August

The date of WWE NXT‘s next streaming special has reportedly been revealed.

Previous reports suggested that the brand might hold a show on SummerSlam weekend to coincide with the main roster’s premium live event. However, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is tentatively planning NXT’s next streaming event for the end of next month, with August 20 and August 27 being specifically considered.

“They are tentatively planning a major NXT show for late August, with 8/20 and 8/27 being looked at as possible dates for the next ‘Don’t call it Takeover’ show,” Meltzer wrote.

NXT’s previous streaming event was the In Your House show on June 4. The brand held a TV special, the Great American Bash, in its typical slot on USA Network on July 5.

The month of August will mark the one-year anniversary of the final NXT TakeOver event before WWE shifted to NXT 2.0 in September.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
