NWA Powerrr Results (7/12): Race To The Chase Tournament Begins

The Race to the Chase Tournament started with three first-round matches on the July 12 episode of NWA Powerrr.

The first-round victors will advance to a four way-match, where the winner of the tournament will earn a shot at the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at NWA 74.

The results are as follows:

  • Race to the Chase First-Round Match: Thom Latimer defeated Chris Adonis
    • During the match, Joe Galli announced that Mike Knox was given a first-round bye in the tournament.
  • In an interview, Knox discusses his bye and says he has a kink in his back, as he might have hurt it when he slammed Bully Ray through a table. He says he got a bye because Billy Corgan and Matt Cardona said so. Knox discusses his feud with Bully Ray and says he’s seeing him everywhere. He says he hates Ray, and he’ll be “on him” whenever he shows up.
  • In an interview, Kerry Morton discusses Homicide’s offer to face him at NWA 74. He says it’s an amazing opportunity. Morton makes it clear that he wants to win the gold.
  • Race to the Chase First-Round Match: Brian Myers defeated The Pope
  • Idolmania Sports Management is standing backstage. Tyrus discusses his success. BLK Jeez brings up his #1 contender, Odinson. Tyrus points out that the last number one contender got hurt. Jordan Clearwater shows off his body because it’s “gold.”
  • KiLynn King defeated Allysin Kay
    • After the match, Kay is asked about being the “gateway” to Kamille and her title. She says Bully Ray told her that staying close to the champion is in her best interest.
  • Backstage, NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship Trevor Murdoch says he did the right thing by getting Tim Storm’s ban on challenging for the gold lifted. He says he doesn’t care who he faces’ he’ll take on anyone.
  • Race to the Chase First-Round Match: Nick Aldis defeated Tim Storm by DQ
    • Storm accidentally collided with the referee during the match. He hit the Perfect Storm, but the referee was down. Storm then kicked Aldis below the belt, and the official saw it, so he called for the bell.
