Report: Kenny Omega Preparing For An In-Ring AEW Return

It sounds like All Elite Wrestling is scheduled to get former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega back sooner rather than later.

The Cleaner wrestled his last match at Full Gear 2021, where he lost the AEW World Championship to Hangman Page. Following the match, Omega took time away from the ring to take care of a wide range of injuries he had been suffering from and fans have been anticipating his eventual return ever since then.

The end of last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite left many fans confused who assumed we were on a collision course of a third match between The Young Bucks and FTR at All Out. It was reported at the time that Matt and Nick Jackson had a big angle coming in the summer, and now according to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), AEW staff has informed him that Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks have been penciled in for a trios match at All Out.

While this obviously hasn’t been confirmed yet, and plans could change, this would certainly make sense as to why The Young Bucks dropped the AEW World Tag Team Championships last week. Sapp stressed that neither All Elite Wrestling nor Kenny Omega himself has confirmed this news to him, but this is what he’s heard from both talent and staff in All Elite Wrestling.

Tony Khan has gone on record that he didn’t want to introduce AEW Trios Championships until Omega was ready to return to the company. If The Elite is scheduled for a trios match at All Out right now, that could mean that these new titles aren’t far behind. We’ll find out soon enough.
