Report: NWA Plans To Introduce New Women’s Title

The National Wrestling Alliance is reportedly set to institute a new championship.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the company will announce the addition of the Women’s Television Championship on this week’s episode of NWA Powerrr. He noted that Madusa will make the announcement about the title, which is being designed by Billy Corgan and Dave Millican.

Per Johnson, it’s unclear when the championship will get factored into storylines, but it could happen as soon as the NWA 74 pay-per-view in August. He specifically cited talk of the title being used as a way to push Allysin Kay.

Tyrus currently holds the men’s TV Championship, which has the “lucky seven rule” that gives the champion the right to challenge for the world title in exchange for relinquishing the TV title.

The promotion recently announced the return of the NWA USA Tag Team Championship. Plus, Nick Aldis has been pulled from the main event of the upcoming pay-per-view and replaced by Tyrus.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
