Bobby Lashley reportedly both expressed interest in fighting outside WWE and has been approached with the opportunity to do so.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that, when he asked Lashley, the reigning WWE United States Champion, about his fighting career, “The All Mighty” made it clear that he hopes and intends to fight. After WWE Money in the Bank, he asked Vince McMahon about possibly fighting in the UFC, but the idea was shot down.
Lashley also stated that “a bare knuckle boxing company rep” approached him and wanted to know if he’d consider facing Mike Tyson. The former WWE Champion stated that he’d love to do it and he would be honored to have that opportunity, but he noted that it was a “feeling out process.” According to Lashley, the rep had named Madison Square Garden as a potential venue.
Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN subsequently reported that the promotion in question is Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), and both Tyson and Lashley have talked with them. He wrote that money had been a stumbling block previously, but that’s no longer the case. Muehlhausen also noted that Tyson is back training in the gym.
Confirmed: The company that has approached Lashley is Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). Lashley has talked with them in the past as has Tyson, but money was a stumbling block then and isn't the case now. Tyson is back training in the gym with Rafael Cordeiro. https://t.co/H7HKVmzqP6
