NWA Powerrr Results (8/2/22): Tyrus Defends NWA TV Title

The National Wrestling Alliance delivered an eventful show with the August 2 episode of NWA Powerrr.

In the main event, Tyrus defended the NWA World Television Championship against Odinson.

The results are as follows:

  • The show opens with Matt Taven and Mike Bennett at the podium. Taven says their goal is to win the tag titles, and he says they’re going to get revenge on La Rebelion after they get the gold. Bennett notes he understands why La Rebelion did what they did, but they remain focused on their goal to win the championship. La Rebelion interrupts and says the OGK has a lot of nerve for stepping up to the “baddest” tag team in NWA. They note that they reigned supreme as the champions and represented NWA all over the world while the OGK was sitting at home. La Rebelion says that the OGK will have to go through them to geta title shot. The teams start brawling around ringside. Bestia 666 shows up and mists Raven and Bennett. La Rebelion stands tall after the fight.
  • #1 Contender’s Match for the NWA National Championship: Cyon (with Austin Idol) defeated Rodney Mack (with Aron Stevens)
  • In a backstage promo, Kamille discusses her goal for NWA 74 and notes that she’ll be in action on both nights of the show. She says she’ll simply pick up some more wins. Standing alongside here, Thom Latimer says he’ll do what it takes to win his match.
  • Team War: Miserably Faithful (Judais, Gaagz The Gymp, and Sal the Pal) defeated The Ill Begotten (Alex Taylor, Royce Freeman, and Jeremiah Plunkett)  (with Danny Dealz)
  • Trevor Murdoch does a backstage interview and talks about his match with The Pope next week. He says he asked for the match, but his reason for doing so is between him and The Pope. Murdoch states that he’ll enter NWA 74 as the champion. When pressed, he refuses to explain why he’s facing The Pope.
  • Heart 2 Heart with Colby Corino: May Valentine interviews Corino, who talks about his childhood. When asked, he says he hasn’t read Tyrus’ book because he doesn’t read. Aron Stevens tries to dig deeper and asks him what he thinks about Tyrus’ chains. Corino points out that he’s not even going after the Television Championship. He keeps dodging questions about Tyrus, and the interview ends.
  • Backstage, Homicide, alongside Caprice Coleman, discusses his upcoming title match against Kerry Morton. He says PJ Hawkx is a future legend. Coleman says he has a rookie body and an ageless mind. He tells Homicide to give “the man” a chance when he’s done with the kids.
  • NWA World Television Championship: Tyrus (c) defeated Odinson
