When Bobby Lashley returned to WWE in 2018, one match was on the mind of not only Bobby Lashley but every WWE Universe member, Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar. It would take until the 2022 Royal Rumble before these men would finally have a one-on-one encounter for the championship belt. While Bobby did end up defeating Brock Lesnar, the ongoing saga of Brock Lesnar-Roman Reigns-Paul Heyman overshadowed the match and ultimately played a factor in the finish of Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar.
Speaking with Lucha Libre Online, Lashley explained the importance of his comeback in 2018 and why he still feels there is still meat on the bone in his program with Brock Lesnar.
“Before I made my comeback, I was already in my 40’s. To think that you may be able to come to WWE at that age is unheard-able, but I knew I was going to. I knew I was going to win a world title. I knew I had so much more to go. I know I’m going to win another world title”. “The harder I work, the luckier I get,” said Lashley of his comeback.
Talking about Brock Lesnar, Lashley praised Brock Lesnar’s consistency and said fans only saw a teaser of the magic he and Brock could create if given the opportunity.
“We didn’t get it all. We got a little teaser. I think there’s some unfinished business”. “Brock has been consistent like this for the last 20 years,” said Bobby Lashley.
Up next for “The All Mighty” is a match with Ciampa for his WWE United States Championship. Learn more about how that match came together at this link.
