WWE RAW Viewership Sees Increase On 8/22, Demo Rises As Well

WWE RAW viewership saw another rise in viewership on August 22, which featured the surprise return of former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano.

According to Showbuzz Daily, an average of 2.005 million viewers watched the show on Monday. In the 18 to 49 demographic, RAW scored a 0.55. For comparison, 1.978 million viewers watched the show last week, and RAW scored a 0.53 in the same demographic.

The hourly breakdown is as follows:

  • First hour: 2.055 million viewers, 0.53 in the 18 to 49 demographic
  • Second hour: 2.044 million viewers, 0.57 in the 18 to 49 demographic
  • Third hour: 1.917 million viewers, 0.55 in the 18 to 49 demographic

 

With NFL having preseason football last night on ESPN, RAW took the second, third, and fourth spots in the demographic among cable originals on Monday night. With hour two taking the top spot of the three hours this week.

This week’s episode opened with a promo from WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus who teased coming out of retirement before being interrupted by Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai. Stratus then got back up from RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka. The main event of the show saw Edge defeat Damian Priest with a Canadian Destroyer, followed by the spear. Following the match, Edge was jumped by The Judgment Day who was saved by his wife Beth Phoenix, who was armed with a steel chair.
