Report: WWE Released Flash Morgan Webster While He Was Still Recovering From An Injury

WWE released several members of the NXT UK roster in August, including one wrestler who is still on the shelf.

Flash Morgan Webster confirmed his release on August 18 and thanked the company for the opportunities he’s had over the last five years. He is a former NXT UK Tag Team Champion, but he has been sidelined with an injury since 2021; he hasn’t wrestled since the November 4 episode of NXT UK.

In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that the company let Webster go, even after he signed a new deal with the company earlier this year. For Webster, the deal was reportedly meant to ensure that he’d be taken care of throughout his recovery. However, while he had been cleared by his surgeon prior to his release, his physio did not give him the green light. Sapp noted that Webster was “nowhere near ready” to return to the ring when the company let him go.

This move is a departure from WWE’s typical policy; previously, the company tended not to release injured talent.
