Eddie Kingston Pulled From NJPW STRONG Autumn Action Due To Positive COVID Test

Eddie Kingston will miss the NJPW STRONG Autumn Action taping on September 11.

In a tweet, “The Mad King” announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19, so he won’t be able to make the show. He was scheduled to team up with Wheeler Yuta and Homicide to face Jay White and the Good Brothers.

He noted that he’s going to test again to see if he can make AEW TV this week. Kingston last wrestled on the Zero Hour pre-show ahead of AEW All Out, where he defeated Tomohiro Ishii.

Kingston’s positive test, along with the absence of Kevin Blackwood due to personal reasons, required NJPW to make some changes to the card. The aforementioned six-man tag team match is now a tag team bout where Yuta and Homicide will face Jay White and Karl Anderson.

The announcement, courtesy of NJPW’s official website, is as follows:

Eddie Kingston and Kevin Blackwood, who were both scheduled to wrestle on NJPW STRONG’s Autumn Action tapings in Las Vegas on September 11, will both be absent from the tapings.

Blackwood will miss the event for personal reasons. Kingston has tested positive for COVID-19.

We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing both wrestle, and appreciate your understanding. The following changes have been made to the card.

Eddie Kingston, Homicide & Wheeler Yuta vs Jay White, Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows ->

Homicide & Wheeler Yuta vs Jay White & Karl Anderson

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
