AEW Dynamite Results (10/26/22): AEW World Title Match And More

All Elite Wrestling delivered a star-studded episode of AEW Dynamite on October 26.

Jon Moxley defended the AEW World Championship against Penta El Zero Miedo. Plus, Chris Jericho and Daniel Garcia battled Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. Elsewhere on the show, FTR faced Swerve in our Glory in a #1 Contender’s Match, and Bryan Danielson clashed with Sammy Guevarra. Additionally, fans heard from MJF, and Riho took on Jamie Hayter.

The results are as follows:

Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho and Daniel Garcia) vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta)

Castagoli and Jericho start the bout. “The Swiss Superman” takes control and overpowers his opponents. Yuta tags in and grounds Garcia. The ROH Pure Champion gains the upper hand, but Yuta fires back with a senton. Castagnoli and Yuta elbow Jericho and Garcia. The match briefly spills out of the ring. The BCC double-teams Garcia. Castagnoli drills Jericho with some uppercuts. Hager distracts Castagnoli, and Jericho capitalizes with a dropkick. Jericho and Garcia isolate Castagnoli. He rallies and tags Yuta, who dives onto Jericho with a splash. Yuta unloads on Garcia and slams Jericho to the mat. Yuta dives onto Garcia at ringside. Jericho goes to use Lloyd the bat, but Castagnoli powerbombs him. Castagnoli swings Jericho while he has Garcia on his shoulders. Castagnoli takes out the JAS with uppercuts and pins Jericho.

Winners: Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta)

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Bryan Danielson. She asks him about his match tonight, and he says he’s frustrated that he lost to Chris Jericho. He says he’s frustrated that Daniel Garcia betrayed him and Wheeler Yuta talked back to him. Yuta walks up, and Danielson says he’s going to unleash all of his frustration tonight. Yuta brags about his win and says he’s not Danielson’s son, he’s a man. They argue, and Castagnoli pulls them apart. He tells them to discuss the matter like adults later.

A vignette shows clips of Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.

Backstage, the Jericho Appreciation Society gets frustrated about their loss. Jericho says Castagnoli accepted the victory when there was a baseball bat in the ring. He issues an open challenge to any former ROH World Champion for next week.

#1 Contender’s Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs. Swerve in our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland)

The Acclaimed come to the stage to watch the match. Wheeler and Strickland feel each other out, and they’re evenly matched. Wheeler gains the upper hand and tags Harwood. Lee tags in, and FTR goes for the Big Rig, but the big man blocks it. Lee takes his opponents down with a crossbody. Swerve and Lee take control and isolate Wheeler. They continue to control the action, but Wheeler eventually tags Harwood. Dax clears house with a flurry of offense. He sends Lee to the outside. Swerve and Dax trade pin attempts. Harwood dumps Strickland on his head with a German suplex. FTR double-teams Strickland and gets a two count. Lee tags in and drops Wheeler with a double-team move. Strickland knocks Harwood to the floor. Swerve in our Glory gets a two count with a powerbomb.

Harwood catches a diving Strickland, rolls through and powerbombs him. Lee falls onto Wheeler after a headbutt and gets a two count. FTR takes the fight to Lee in the corner. Harwood superplexes Lee, and Wheeler gets a two count with a splash. Strickland breaks up a Big Rig. Wheeler takes him out with a superkick. FTR gets a near fall with the Big Rig. Harwood rolls up Lee for a two count. Strickland hits him below the belt. Lee pins Harwood with the Big Bang Catastrophe while the Gunns hold Wheeler at ringside
