Kurt Angle believes WWE missed the boat with Claudio Castagnoli.

It’s no secret that the former Cesaro, Claudio Castagnoli, has always had the label of “underrated” associated with him. He has also always had the respect of those that have shared a locker room with him and now, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is putting his two cents in on Cesaro’s time with WWE and openly stating that he should have been a multiple-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

“He should have been a five-time World Champion before he left WWE and not once did they give him the World Title,” Kurt Angle said on the latest episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show. “I’m really surprised because that kid can do it all in the ring. He is, pound-for-pound, the strongest wrestler I have ever seen. The stuff he does in that ring is incredible. I mean, that Suplex off of the second rope when he pulled the guys off the ground, he’s on the second rope, arches and pulls them up and horses them up. That’s incredible, man. You do stuff like that, you’re unbelievable. He’s Superman, he’s the real-life Superman.”

Today, Claudio is with AEW and recently won his first world championship, the Ring of Honor World Championship, subsequently losing the title to Chris Jericho at AEW Grand Slam.

Kurt Angle recently revealed why he turned down a deal to wrestle ten matches in AEW. Learn more here.
